Cardio
Let's face the facts you either LOVE cardio or you cant stand it, but trust me give it a chance. Lately I've been getting into a lot more cardio (which is something I'd NEVER thought i would enjoy.) I never really liked running as a kid, you know when the teacher told us we are doing 100m sprints I would hide. But this year I've really surprised myself and I have found the motivation to do jogging or (my personal favourite) cycling.
Benefits of cardio
Cardio has many benefits and if you want further explanation in another post, please let me know:
Strengthens your heart and improves the blood to be pumped around your body, therefore your muscles get more oxygen for energy.
Lowers blood pressure and manages your cholesterol levels.
Regulates blood sugar.
Improves sleep.
Loses weight and if you do cardio regularly, then the weight you lose won't come back!
Boosts immune system.
Boosts mood and confidence.
Not just running...
Brisk walking for 30 minutes can burn up to 180 calories
Running for 30 minutes can burn up to 300 calories
Cycling for 30 minutes can more than 250 calories
Rowing for 30 minutes burns up to 300 calories
Finally, Swimming for 30 minutes can burn up to 400 calories
